Paris Hilton’s Y2K French Manicure Is a Blast From the Past

Paris Hilton is the queen/princess/heiress of Y2K style—back when it was actually happening and today in its renaissance. With that being said, it’s never surprising when she pulls out a look from the early aughts archive… but it’s always a little bit thrilling. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I miss being nine years old and listening to “Stars Are Blind” on repeat; I’ll return to that feeling any way I can.

On Wednesday, April 24, the 43-year-old appeared at Westfield Century City to celebrate her new collaboration with Tan-Luxe. (Can I just say that a Paris Hilton-approved self-tanning product is genius?) For the event, she wore a bedazzled, strappy pink cutout minidress and pink sunglasses, showing off a very 2000s French manicure—short and round, as simple as they come—as she displayed her new product.

Earlier in the day, Hilton wore the same manicure to the Variety Entertainment Marketing Summit at (where else?) The Beverly Hilton hotel. A similar look was also worn last month to the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscars party, and in February to the Grammys, which leads me to wonder… have we ever seen the heiress without a French manicure? I know we ultimately have, but unless she’s going all out for a special event, like announcing the birth of her baby boy, the girl knows what she likes.

According to my research, the mother of two trusts nail artist Zagasaa Nansal to perfect her French tips. As for her makeup, she’s not faithful to any one artist but does have some favorites. While Melissa Hurkman did her makeup for Coachella over the weekend, this look is giving celebrity makeup artist Etienne Ortega (we’d know those lips anywhere). Her signature blonde waves are 100% the work of Eduardo Ponce, and her tan? Courtesy of Tan-Luxe and Alexandra DiMarchi, of course.

Which reminds me: that Tan-Luxe collab! Earlier this week, Hilton and founder Marc Elrick revealed a new product dubbed The Future ($49). Featuring an Airbrush 360 Self-Tan Mist and Luxe Mitt, the new limited-edition kit boasts the “easiest to apply, longest-lasting, most streak-free tan” that you can get in your own bathroom.

French tips and a nice (UV ray free!!) glow? It seems some trends actually should come back in style. And once again, as it was 20-some years ago with reality TV and influencer culture, Hilton is leading the charge.
