Florence Pugh’s Soaking Wet 2024 Oscars Manicure Featured 3D Water Droplets

We can always count on Florence Pugh to deliver on the red carpet, and the 2024 Oscars were no different. With every red carpet she goes to, she delivers looks that are just as experimental as high fashion. At this year’s Golden Globes, it was a mohawk of sorts with a bright red dress; at last year’s Oscars, it was a punk-princess fusion ensemble; and at all the Dune: Part Two press stops, she delivered a masterclass in in-world dressing. This year’s Oscars beauty? Leaning into the dystopian dressing (down to the coordinating nails).

On March 10, Pugh walked the red carpet at the 2024 Oscars alongside many of her Oppenheimer co-stars. The blockbuster film about the creator of the nuclear bomb is up for 13 nominations at the biggest night in cinema—including the coveted Best Picture award. Obviously, to honor the achievement, she’s showing up to the red carpet in a drool-worthy outfit.

Though her outfit wasn’t necessarily character-dressing for Oppenheimer, it was perfect for her Princess Irulan in the world Dune

Sculptural and silver, the Del Core design started with a hard-material, abstract, corset-like top. The thin spaghetti straps were raised a few inches above her shoulder, then continued tight across her chest and stomach. Once the design reached the waist, it burst outward in a wave-like shape, twirling out while being completely covered in water drop accents that made it look like a window covered in rain—even more so with the metallic silk skirt shooting out from the structured top.

As if the dress didn’t already remind us enough of the Water of Life from Dune, her nails sold the similarities even more. All matching in a medium length almond shape, they then had slightly different variations of rain-drop designs on top. With the same color and texture as the gown, Pugh’s nails started with a base of slightly transparent, shiny white color. Then, on top, clear circular dew drops covered each nail from base to tip with minorly different placements on each finger.

Her Bulgari jewelry added to the dripping vibe, as did her white blonde hair. Pugh parted her hair in a deep side part and styled it with loose, slightly messy waves. The bright white hue of the hair matched the reflectiveness of the rest of the look, also furthering our inability to not see this an ode to her desert princess character.
