Rihanna Paired Her Newly Blonde Hair With Goth Lip Liner

It feels like everyone woke up this morning and decided the new year has officially started, and it’s time to serve looks. First, it was Zendaya wearing her edgiest outfit ever, complete with freshly debuted micro bangs. Then, Jennifer Lopez debuted a bob to sit next to Z at Schiaparelli’s Couture show. As if that wasn’t enough, Rihanna just touched down in Paris and delivered even more goodness at Couture Week.

On January 22, Badgalriri attended Dior’s Haute Couture show alongside other stars like Ali WongAnya Taylor-Joy, and Natalie Portman. Seeing as it’s a rare Fashion Week appearance for the icon, she had to arrive as the most opulent, fashionable version of herself. Which she did, while also serving us hair and makeup inspiration for days.

Though her outfit was good enough to walk the runway, we couldn’t take our eyes off the singer’s lips. To match the edgy, all-black vibes of her ensemble, Rih gave her lips a goth ombré effect that brought the black in her outfit to her face. The outside of Rihanna’s lips were defined and lined with a dark gray liner, blurred slightly on her outer corners and lower lip to blend in with the pink at the center of her lips. On top of the ombré, she coated the look with a high-shine clear gloss to tie it together—not too unlike the look she wore to a fashion show in June last year.

Paired with the lips were coordinating eyes peeping out from a very oversized, dramatic baseball cap. Like her lips, these had gothy, darkly lined top waterlines and corners. Though her lower waterline was left liner-free, her long, dark lashes and glossy chrome eyeshadow made up for the lack of pigment.

Underneath the hat, framing her makeup and falling down behind her shoulders was her blonde hair, which appeared to be a few shades brighter than when she recently debuted the color at a Formula 1 race. Because the oversized hat was the focus, not the hair, she pushed almost all the strands behind her shoulders—leaving only a few wispy flyaways to shape her face.

Somehow, the last thing we are bringing up is the outfit. A full Dior ensemble, it appeared almost as if she took a comforter, wrapped it around her body, and cinched it around her waist with a thick belt, and used an exact-matching, thinner bed sheet as her skirt. The whole outfit was made out of the same black quilted fabric, and she finished it off with black leather gloves, a matching purse, and white pointy-toe heels.
